Dan Cotenescu, founder and owner of the company Dacoda SRL, was born on 21st January 1957 in Bucharest.
 
In 1976 he finished his studies in a computer science high school and in 1981 he graduated from the Energetic Faculty belonging to the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest.

From 1981 to 1991 he worked for short periods of time for the Special Steel Factory in Târgoviste as trainee engineer and then, from 1982 onward he worked as programmer analyst for the Metaloglobus Computer Centre.
 
Between 1992 and 1993 he was associate of the ROMINSTAL Company-dealing with installations and infrastructure.

In 1993 he founded and directed since, the Dacoda Company whose activity is exclusively focused on freight forwarding.

2001 was the birth of “BursaTransport” freight exchange, which became in few years the most popular Romanian Internet freight exchange, based on the forwarding experience of Dacoda.

Dan Cotenescu splited the two owned business in 2007, so the Internet service “BursaTransport” continued functioning under the new company Dacodasoft.

In 2008 Dacodasoft and BursaTransport were subject of an aquisition by the publishing group Wolters Kluver. Dan Cotenescu signed with them the managing contract for his ex-owned BursaTransport. He also kept the position of main owner of forwarding company Dacoda.

His approach of business: business is the ability to identify those circumstances from which the two contracting parties have both something to win. 

Hobbies: traveling, motorcycling, geography, history of the two World Wars, formal logic and especially its application in computer systems analysis.
